Fighting stains on those favorite garments is not always easy. While ink blots may be an interesting psychiatric idea, ink blots on your favorite working apparel is not something you want to experience. Generally, melted wax is perfect as it melts beautifully down a candle, but add in your best mock-wrap scrub tops, and you have a disaster in the making. This does not mean that accidents do not happen. What this means is that when the inevitable happens, you will be prepared.
So you have your favorite mock-wrap scrub tops all in order. The one for work is sitting out, and one of your children decides they will do a nice rendition of Picasso. On paper that is art for the refrigerator, but on your work wear, that is a disaster. Rather than toss out your functional top, you now have options.
To remove crayon markings from your clothing, all you need is patience and some WD-40. WD-40 is found in most grocery stores as well as any automotive supply store. Lay the garment in question on a white clean cloth. Spray the stain with a healthy dose of WD-40, and then let set for a few minutes. To avoid staining from the spray, you may want to turn the garment inside out to be on the safe side.
Immediately launder the garment with a high quality, colorfast detergent. After the washing, immediately remove the garment and look for the Picasso artwork on the garment. Do you still see remnants of the refrigerator art? If so, you need to immediately reapply WD-40 and rewash. Keep washing until the crayon artwork is no longer on the garment. You will then be able to dry the favorite of your mock-wrap scrub tops as you choose.
Stain gone! Yes, it is that easy.
Perhaps your little Picasso has graduated from crayons to permanent marker. Ugh! Yes, permanent black ink is not something that goes well with your favorite working apparel. However, it is easy to get rid of that pesky mark. In fact, you probably have what you need right there in your home.
First, get the garment in question and your favorite can of hairspray. Thoroughly drench your artwork with hairspray. Let the hairspray sit for a few moments, and then scrub with a toothbrush. With elbow grease, hairspray, and a toothbrush, you can save your garments from the dreaded black marker that has been your nemesis in the past.
The good news is that the majority of spots or spills you encounter can be easy countered at home without a lot of expensive treatments. The number one rule for fighting stains is not to launder and dry the garment without first treating. Drying your garment will likely set the stain in permanently. The sooner you treat the possible stain, the more likely you are going to be able to keep that stain away from your favorite apparel.
While refrigerator art is great for company and the child in question, sometimes, you will find that the artwork or masterpieces your little one creates are not limited to a piece of paper. Being prepared with a few tops can save your mock-wrap scrub tops.
